Small Town Events And Big Time Fun In Elk Rapids!

There's a lot of charm that comes with living in a small, fun-loving community like you'll find in Northern Michigan. The close-knit and inclusive environment you grew up in still exists, and like the events in Elk Rapids this month, they're still an absolute treat. 

Up North, there's always something going on. We're taking a look at some of the family-friendly events on the calendar for March in the small town of Elk Rapids. The Elk Rapids Chamber of Commerce has a very up-to-date calendar that serves as a great resource for anyone in the area looking to get out and do something new. On March 11, combine a good ol' fashion scavenger hunt with a more modern twist! Learn how to use a GPS unit to search out a pot of gold a week ahead of St. Patrick's Day. Geocache lovers have a veritable paradise to explore in the village of Alden, close to Torch Lake, and of course never far from the forests that make Northern Michigan such a natural setting. Community events are also a great way to connect with folks with similar interests. If staying close to home and chatting sounds like a relaxing way to spend a Sunday, you should really check out Knitting on the Porch. Every Sunday from 2-4pm, meet at the Elk Rapids District Library and work on your craft. There's also no better way to work on a new pattern, or learn some tips and tricks as you get into knitting.
