EXIT Northern Shores Welcomes the 2017 National Cherry Festival

We love the atmosphere and excitement of our Northern Michigan festivals, and the National Cherry Festival is the grand-daddy of them all! Since 1925, our region's love of cherries has grown to a national affair, to the delight of millions of eager tourists over the years.

This weekend, Traverse City becomes one of the most exciting places in the state. From July 1 through July 8, the week is filled with non-stop fun for the whole family. There's something for everyone, from cherry pie to fireworks, air shows and wine tours. It's a diverse offering for thousands of people that make the annual trip north to take part in these events, but also to venture out and enjoy the many natural attractions as well.

And that's something to celebrate as a real estate agency. Because even with all of the planned and busy things going on, people are always drawn to the rivers and lakes, beaches and forests that surround our thriving towns and villages. When thousands of people converge on Traverse City's West Bay for the Fourth of July Fireworks, they're not just coming from the carnival or Cherry Pit Spit. They're coming from a hike on Glacial Hills Pathways in Bellaire, or from the quiet beaches of Elk Lake.

The National Cherry Festival does so much to bring people to Northern Michigan, but also to expose these adventurers to the area as a whole. There's always time for an elephant ear and a rockin' concert by the water, but there's no better way to get the ringing out of your ears than a quiet walk through Elk Rapids.

Head here for the full 2017 schedule of events.

For everyone at EXIT Northern Shores, enjoy the National Cherry Festival, and we hope you have a safe and memorable Fourth of July. Happy summer!
