Your Own Campground In Northern Michigan!

All over Michigan, people are dusting off the colors, rolling up the sleeping bags and hooking up the fishing boats for weekend trips Up North. If you love making the journey to the peace and quiet of the northern forests, you know that having the right place to go makes all the difference.

No more hotels, crowded or booked up campgrounds, or even hooking up the RV in someone's backyard. Get to the woods, and get to all the festivals and events you love, with your own wooded property! This spring, there's seems to be an exceptional selection of parcels with lots of options. We've come up with a few things to consider when you start to look at acreage.

Size is more than just elbow space, it can dictate how you end up using your land. More acres means more options and flexibility in the future, especially if you plan on building a cabin or full-time home. We have plenty of folks that look to purchase an extra few acres to make sure they have a little breathing space away from any potential neighbors, who may have building plans themselves. We also get families that want space for dedicated pole buildings, or even space away from a new home to keep the camping-type feel for visiting families and friends.

Another thing to look at is how ready the property is for development. Some properties may need electrical, plumbing, or other hook-ups made ready. Many remote properties may need trees cleared, even if you're only looking to use the area for camping. A quick walk-through is usually all you need to make sure of what you'll need to clear, while a simple call to your EXIT Northern Shores agent is enough to find out what utilities are in place.

Finally, water access is always a big plus. We can always let you know what access your property has to lakes or rivers in the area, even if it isn't immediately adjacent. Properties like 4298 Pike in Kalkaska aren't on the water, but offer walkable access. Others may have private lake or river frontage, and with so many small bodies of water in the Kalkaska area especially, you can almost always find the right acreage, location, and frontage to suit your needs.
